The MSCI World Index returned 0.4% in USD over the last six months – and in local currency is up 1.3%. Judging by the outcome, it looks as dull as the England-Belgium World Cup football match, but the reality could not be more different. A number of conditions that shaped the investment environment between 2009 and 2016 have changed quite fundamentally over the last 18 months.
